Couple both together and you have Futurecraft 3D by adidas. adidas and Materialise developed Futurecraft through an open source partnership, the result of which is a customizable shoe which offers a performance experience tailored towards the need of athlete.
Will this allow athletes not only to customize their colorway, but also optimize performance attributes of the shoe, such as heal drop, density of sole, custom soles for over or under pronators? For functional fitness applications, could there be olympic lifters with a custom base width, height, shape?
