Breaking Muscle Says Rich Froning is Not the Fittest Man in History

Maybe it’s just to stir up a little controversy, maybe they have some valid points, or maybe they are just haters, but Breaking Muscle posted an article claiming that despite what the new CrossFit HQ documentary says, Rich Froning is not the fittest man in history.

If we remember correctly from watching the Froning documentary at the world premiere a few months ago, CrossFit’s claim was that they have tested fitness on the broadest scale ever tested and Rich prevailed four years in a row. Seems like a solid argument for sure… The CrossFit Open has a couple hundred thousand people that compete each year, and throughout the Open, Regionals, and Games, athletes are tested on dozens of movements and platforms, so that could definitely be one definition of fitness.

Here’s a snippet of Breaking Muscle’s rebuttal

“Rich Froning is the all-time undisputed champ of CrossFit. Not the universe, just CrossFit. It’s important to remember that CrossFit is a sport – one of many, many sports that exist, and Froning is clearly the best at his sport. The fact that CrossFit labels their reigning champ as the “Fittest on Earth” or Froning as the “Fittest in History” means nothing.” -Breaking Muscle
