Bridgewater Gladiators win $50,000 at the Grid Invitational

Amateur Grid teams from around the world gathered in Anaheim, California, this past week for the Grid Invitational and at the end of the tournament on Sunday the East Coast’s Bridgewater Gladiators won the final match and $50,000. Here’s the entire match replay courtesy of NPGL.

The 2015 NPGL GRID Invitational is nearing its end as the top two teams vie for the glory of winning the first tournament and for the big check: $50,000 in cash and prizes.

Saturday’s semifinals began with a match-up between the Bridgewater Gladiators and the Capital City Silverbacks. With the exception of races 5 and 6, the Gladiators dominated every other race to advance to the Final.

That match was followed by the second semifinal, which had the Texas Bloodhounds facing off against the Chicago Rally. Just like the first match, nine of the 11 races were won by the Rally as they cruised their way into the championship match.

“I don’t think we were looked upon to come to the Finals, but here we are, so its super exciting,” said Chicago Rally athlete Brandon Pastorek.

The Invitational concludes with the championship match on Sunday, September 20, at the Anaheim Convention Center. Watch it stream live with play-by-play commentary at GRID TV: (
