This evening is the first semi-final Grid match of the 2015 season, and by Saturday night the NPGL will have crowned a new team as the League champions. This quick hype reel sets the stage for the rest of the week… Which team do you think will take home the Pinnacle Trophy?
The players and coaches on the four NPGL teams still in the hunt for the 2015 championship are ready. They are hungry to win, some to hoist the Pinnacle Trophy again, others on a mission to avenge losses and make it their own.
“This year, we’re ready for redemption,” said Jessica Phillips of the Phoenix Rise, which lost to the San Francisco Fire in the semifinals in 2014.
“To win the championship this year would mean that we rectified what was a mistake last year… we didn’t hold the Pinnacle Trophy last year,” said Drew Canavero of the 2014 runner-up San Francisco Fire.
“To win the championship this year would be validation… if you do something two times in a row, it’s not by chance,” said Marcus Hendron of the defending champions DC Brawlers.
“I would love for the Brawlers to be considered the first dynasty in GRID,” said Brawlers teammate Ken Battiston.
Hear from more players and coaches of the Phoenix Rise, DC Brawlers, San Francisco Fire and Boston Iron as they bring that burning desire for the Pinnacle Trophy to Anaheim for Championship Week.
