The DC Brawlers added Becca Day to their stacked roster this year, so now the 2014 NPGL champs have two of the strongest female athletes in the league. Will anyone be able to stop them this year? Time will tell…
“I believe everyone in the GRID is looking for another Taylar Stallings,” said Baltimore Anthem Head Coach Garrett Smith.
So, which team has the next Taylar Stallings?
Maybe it’s the 2014 NPGL MVP Stallings’ own team, the DC Brawlers.
“You cannot win a championship in this sport if you don’t have incredibly strong female athletes,” said DC Brawlers Head Coach Justin Cotler.
“I don’t think the coaches are necessarily looking for the next Taylar Stallings,” Stallings said. “I think they’re looking for the next beast of an athlete, so whether it’s another girl barbell mover or a freak gymnast athlete or maybe somebody who finish better in Quadrant 4. I think everybody is just looking for their own niche, something else that hasn’t been seen yet.”
To reinforce that his team stays in contention with the strongest women in the National Pro Grid League, Cotler signed Becca Day, who when asked who is the next Taylar Stallings, replied: “I’m the Becca Day.”
“When I found out that coach worked his magic and picked up Becca Day, I was like, done deal…having her in that same quadrant with me is going to be amazing,” Stallings said.
“I think it’s possible that we’ve got maybe the two best barbell movers in the league now with Taylar and Becca, and I think people are going to see it’s going to be pretty scary when they’re on the GRID at the same time together. I’m looking forward to it.
